Went to this site today for the advertised drive-thru Covid testing from 2-5pm. I got there at 1:50pm. After waiting 6 hours in the car and progressing to about #20 in line, a security guard came to inform me and everyone behind me that they had run out of tests. Six hours of waiting in line just disappeared like that, for me and at least dozens of cars behind me. I don't fault them for running out of tests. Running out of tests is completely understandable -- we all know the high demand for them right now, and running out is no crime. But, I believe that an organization as powerful and "gold standard" as Ochsner is capable of better inventory tracking and communication to the waiting patients. Many of them are sitting in their cars with a yet-to-be-detected Covid wreaking havoc on their system. They need to be informed ASAP of inventory issues so they can make a risk assessment and potentially seek a test or treatment elsewhere. I feel like Ochsner is capable of this. While this is certainly an unpredictable and stressful situation for all of us, it is no small matter to mess with THAT much of THAT many individuals' time. We all deserve some mercy and patience right now...that includes the medical workers, but I think this is something Ochsner can do better. Especially when the solution seems pretty trivial, requiring only a gatekeeper, a radio to home base, and (maybe) a calculator. No data scientists, statisticians, or programmers required. Take a lesson from Chick-fil-A. They are masters of handling a line. And chicken is far less important than this. [update 12/29] Upgraded to 3. Had a much more positive experience there today. As with yesterday, the regularly scheduled drive-thru testing was 2-5pm. However, several people showed up at the crack of dawn (myself being one) as we were directed to by a security guard yesterday. Despite this being much earlier than the publicly posted times of 2-5pm, Ochsner was fair and they adapted to the situation. They got the testing up and running by 1030am, and I quickly got tested with no problems. Ochsner does make an effort to serve its patients, and correct its mistakes. They deserve credit for that. Virtually every other experience I've had with them has been positive. And I'm grateful that they are even supplying tests.

We understand and share the frustration and confusion that not everyone who is experiencing symptoms and wants a test will be able to get tested today. Please know that we are evaluating patients at our locations. However, there are limited tests available across the state and the entire country. As a result, all patients may not be tested even if they are experiencing symptoms. We are hopeful that more tests will become available as the city and state expand new screening and testing protocols. We are also diligently working with our health system partners in other parts of the country to expand access to additional commercial testing. If you are experiencing flu-like symptoms, come to one of our screening locations and are not tested, you will be given information and guidelines on how to best treat your symptoms at home. I've been a patient at most of the hospitals in the GNO area and Ochsner's quality of care is the best in the city. They have cutting edge technology. Their employees are always so nice and supportive, from the front desk to the doctor. I bring my 2 year old to Ochsner for all of her pediatric care and they take very good care of us!!! Love Ochsner Hospital!

I was very happy with every aspect of my visit from the time I arrived until leaving every person that I came in contact with was very professional and very knowledgeable my visit with Nurse Practitioner Melissa Pretus - Hudson was very very good she was able to listen to me and was very professional in addressing my needs she was through and even went the extra mile I will continue to see her for all my medical needs I’m glad to have found her
