Andrea Cothern received her undergraduate degree in Psychology and Sociology at Louisiana State University (LSU) in 1992 before pursuing a career in nursing. She has worked as a registered nurse since 1993, mainly in the areas of Cardiology and Critical Care before pursuing her advanced degree. She received her masters degree in nursing from LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans in 2003.
