Biography
Dr. Gelvin earned her medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans in 2009. She then completed general surgery residency at Louisiana State University in New Orleans in 2014. She is board-certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery (2014). She spent a decade practicing as a general surgeon in New Orleans before pursuing fellowship training. She completed a Breast Surgical Oncology fellowship at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, in 2025. Dr. Gelvin actively participates in the Society of Surgical Oncology, the American Society of Breast Surgeons and American College of Surgeons to stay updated on medical advancements.
Dr. Gelvin is dedicated to addressing the medical needs of her patients while understanding individual concerns and goals. Outside of medicine, she enjoys traveling and volunteering for local philanthropic organizations.
