I have been a certified NICU nurse for 12 years at Ochsner and attended Southeastern Louisiana University for both my bachelor's and master's degrees. I wanted to further my education to become a nurse practitioner to care for patients on a wider spectrum. Working in Neonatal Intensive Care, I feel that I have an excellent knowledge base in development from the beginning of life. This background, together with graduate-level training as a Family Nurse Practitioner, will help me to provide comprehensive treatment to a wide range of patients with developmental needs. I am board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. I am a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the Louisiana Association of Nurse Practitioners, as well as the Academy of Neonatal Nursing.
My care philosophy: To become a member of a collaborative team who work together to treat patients in the best way possible. The members of this team include myself, the patient and family, physicians, social workers, and any other specialties involved in the patients' care. The patients should have a voice in their treatment plan; I will accommodate and adjust to their preferences when able. I will be a patient advocate within the team. I will utilize technology such as MyOchsner to quickly and effectively communicate with patients.
