Dr. Ashley Tessitore practices family medicine at Ochsner Health. She earned a doctorate of nursing practice from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, in May 2020, and a masters of science in nursing as a family nurse practitioner from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, in May 2016. She is board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners as a family nurse practitioner. Ashley also serves as the site lead advanced practice provider (APP) for primary care in the West Bank region of the Ochsner Health System. Prior to beginning her career as a nurse practitioner, Ashley obtained experience as a registered nurse in the emergency department at Ochsner Baptist Medical Center and Ochsner Medical Center - West Bank. Ashley has been with Ochsner since 2012, as both a registered nurse and nurse practitioner. Ashley provides care to patients beginning at age two continuing throughout the lifespan. Ashley enjoys chronic disease management including diabetes and hypertension management. She also enjoys working with nurse practitioner students and participating in quality improvement projects within the Ochsner system.
