Biography

Betty Chung, DO, specializes in hematopathology, molecular genetic pathology and clinical pathology.at Ochsner Health. Dr. Chung received her medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (now Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine) in 2011, and she completed her anatomic and clinical pathology residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago and Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, where she served as chief resident. She also has a masters of public health, specializing in molecular and infectious disease epidemiology and minority/urban and global health development, from Columbia University and a master's degree in pharmacology and experimental therapeutics from Boston University School of Medicine. She completed her fellowships in hematopathology and molecular genetic pathology at Houston Methodist Hospital.

Dr. Chung is board-certified by the American Board of Pathology and completed her residency in 2016. She has been on staff at Ochsner since January 2020.
