Brian Darrith, MD, specializes in orthopedic surgery at Ochsner Health. Dr. Darrith is a fellowship-trained hip and knee replacement surgeon. He provides relief for hip and knee arthritis, fractures, and deformity through nonoperative and operative treatments. He believes each patient is unique and deserves individual consideration to develop the optimal care plan via collaboration between patient and physician. He performs partial knee replacement, total knee replacement, revision knee replacement, and is happy to care for patients who have had a previous joint replacement and seek a second opinion or further management. Offering a comprehensive approach to primary and revision hip replacement, Dr. Darrith is trained in the full range of surgical approaches including anterior, posterior, and lateral approaches. Dr. Darrith also has an interest in young adult hip preservation and treatment for hip dysplasia through procedures such as periacetabular osteotomy.

In addition to patient care, Dr. Darrith enjoys clinical research aimed at improving patient outcomes and furthering innovation within the arthroplasty community. Dr. Darrith serves on the editorial board for the Journal of Arthroplasty and is a peer reviewer for the Bone and Joint Journal. He has written several book chapters regarding hip and knee replacement and has published over two dozen peer-reviewed papers, winning top research awards from the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, Mid-America Orthopaedic Association, Michigan Orthopaedic Society, and The Knee Society.
