Dr. Brian Halbert specializes in genitourinary medical oncology at Ochsner MD Anderson Cancer Center. Originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, he received his medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans. He completed an internal medicine internship and residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Harvard Medical School in Boston. He subsequently completed fellowships in general internal medicine and hematology and medical oncology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. He also received his masters in public health from Harvard Universitys T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Dr. Halbert is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine, medical oncology and hematology, and he is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology. His clinical focus is in genitourinary cancers, including prostate, kidney, bladder and testicular cancers. He also has academic interests in improving care delivery systems to address healthcare disparities for men with prostate cancer.
