Biography
Dr. Davenport is a native Mississippian, born in Meridian, Mississippi, and raised in Vicksburg, Mississippi. He served four years in the U.S. Navy, received his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Mississippi in 1984, and a Master of Science degree in 1987. Dr. Davenport taught Zoology, Microbiology, and Anatomy and Physiology for two years at Holmes Junior College in Ridgeland, Mississippi, before attending medical school at UMMC from 1988- 1992. Upon graduation, he completed Internal Medicine and Cardiology Fellowships at UMMC. Dr. Davenport began practicing at Rush in interventional cardiology in 1998. Outside of medicine, he enjoys his faith, family, farm, and reading biographies and history.
