Dr. Christopher Palmer is an orthopedic surgeon at Ochsner Health.Dr. Palmer has been on staff at Ochsner since 2022 and has been practicing orthopedic surgery since 1998. He performs general orthopedics including adult reconstructive/joint replacement surgery and sports medicine. Dr. Palmer has a special clinical interest in surgical reconstruction of the knee and shoulder as well as cartilage restorative procedures. Dr. Palmer earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham. He completed his internship in general surgery at Keesler Medical Center in Biloxi, Mississippi, and his residency in orthopedic surgery at Wilford Hall Medical Center Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. He also completed a fellowship in sports medicine at Knoxville Orthopaedic Clinic at the University of Tennessee. Dr. Palmer is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and a diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners. He is a member of the American Medical Association, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine.In his free time, Dr. Palmer enjoys sports and spending time outdoors.
