Dr. Clayton Smith specializes in radiation oncology at Ochsner MD Anderson Cancer Center. He received his undergraduate degree and medical degree from Tulane University. As part of his graduate training at Tulane, he completed a Ph.D. in neuroscience investigating the neurobiology of learning and memory. Following this, he completed his internship at The Methodist Hospital in Houston, and his radiation oncology residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. During residency, he completed the American Board of Radiology Holman Research Pathway and served as Chief Resident. Dr. Smith is board certified by the American Board of Radiology and has been on staff at Ochsner since 2018. He has expertise in treating cancers of the brain, lung and gastrointestinal tract as well as specializing in stereotactic radiosurgery and stereotactic body radiation therapy. Dr. Smith serves as Medical Director of Quality for the Department of Radiation Oncology.
