Dr. David A Barrington is a surgical oncologist with a focus in gynecologic oncology at Ochsner MD Anderson Cancer Center. Originally from Alabama, he completed residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and performed his fellowship training at The Ohio State University Medical Center and James Cancer Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Dr. Barrington's expertise is in the surgical and medical care of women with cancers of the uterus, ovaries, cervix, vulva and vagina. He is highly skilled in robotic assisted minimally invasive surgery and radical ovarian cancer tumor debulking. Dr. Barrington has gained national attention for his contributions to the gynecologic oncology literature on a wide array of topics with over 20 publications in peer-reviewed medical journals and numerous plenary presentations at national conferences. In addition to offering the most up to date therapies and techniques for treating gynecologic cancer, Dr. Barrington believes in a compassionate personalized approach to medicine and is committed to top-quality care for all his patients. Dr. Barrington received his undergraduate degree from Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina, graduating magna cum laude while playing Division I football. He completed medical school at the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham, Alabama.
