Biography

David D. Liu, MD, is a primary care provider specializing in internal medicine and geriatric medicine at Ochsner Health in New Orleans, Louisiana. With more than 20 years of experience, Dr. Liu cares for adults and seniors with a wide range of conditions, including chronic illnesses like diabetes, high blood pressure, as well as memory disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. Being bilingual in both English and Chinese, Dr. Liu can provide preventive care, routine checkups, screenings, immunizations and creating personalized treatment plans based on each patient’s goals in both languages.

Before joining Ochsner, Dr. Liu served as the medical director of the Longevity Center and Memory Disorder Center at St. Vincent Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas, for over 15 years. He has held leadership roles in geriatric hospital consultations, long-term care, rehabilitation, hospice care and assisted living. Dr. Liu also taught for five years at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, supporting research and education in internal medicine and geriatrics. His deep expertise and dedication have improved care for older adults and individuals with complex health conditions.

Dr. Liu partners closely with each patient to make clear and practical care plans that address both immediate concerns and long-term health.

“I believe in treating the whole person, not just the condition,” Dr. Liu said. “My goal is to provide care that is not only effective but also meaningful to my patients and their families.”

As a trusted physician in New Orleans, Dr. Liu is committed to helping patients across the Gulf South achieve better health and quality of life. Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with his family, exploring the vibrant culture of New Orleans and staying active outdoors.
