Dr. Derek Anderson received a doctor of medicine degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans, LA. He completed a family medicine residency at St. Joseph’s Hospital located in Syracuse, NY. Throughout his career, Dr. Anderson has operated as a faculty member at Baton Rouge General, served as program director of Baton Rouge General’s Residency Program and maintained a private practice. Dr. Anderson also served as the primary care team physician for the Louisiana State University athletic department.

Dr. Anderson is an active member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Louisiana Academy of Family Physicians. He received the 2020 Family Physician of the Year Award from the Louisiana Academy of Family Physicians. His special areas of interest include family and sports medicine.
