Ochsner Health Center for Children - Baton Rouge is a pediatric clinic located inside Ochsner Medical Complex - The Grove. These pediatric specialists are focused on the care, diagnosis and treatment of children from birth to 18 years of age. You can schedule same-day and next-day pediatrician appointments in person or virtually. Plus, we offer extended hours so you can get in quickly when your child is sick. I am happy with the care but upset with how the scheduling is handled here. Scheduled a tongue and lip tie removal for my 3 month old. The scheduling team told us her procedure would be at 9:00, and it would take less than 10 minutes, and she would need to feed immediately afterwards, so plan her feeding schedule accordingly. We did so, waking up early (we live in New Orleans), and getting her on a schedule to accommodate the hospital’s request. We arrived before 9:00. And waited. And waited. She should have fed at 9:30, but they didn’t call us back until 10:00. So then we had to feed and delay the surgery even more. I asked what the hour delay was from, and they said they tell all the babies to come at 9:00 and then they call us back in order of age, and ours was the oldest, so we got called last…Then why didn’t we get a call on Friday telling us that the procedure would be later than 9:00? We would have done things differently. They told us to make sure she would be hungry because it is important that she eat immediately after the surgery. But now because of the scheduling snaffoo, she won’t be hungry until at least 2 hours afterwards. Again, I am happy with the team who cared for her. But the scheduling procedure should be updated. If people are going to be staggered, you should tell them beforehand. There’s no point in telling everyone to get their baby on a feeding schedule based on a 9:00 time if they are going to stagger everyone over an hour anyways.

Arrived on time with a 3 year old only to be left waiting in the waiting room for an hour before being called back was fun. 3 year Olds wake up hungry and thirsty so asking them to obstain from both and then making them wait for an hour is cruel. I'm over Dr's offices making patients wait an 30+ minutes. I was on time, why can't the establishment be?

I had an opthamogy today. Arrived early & checked in. I was never called for myappointment. I checked again to see if l was checked in 3rdin. I was told at the desk yes. Everybody was called in the waiting area except me. This was at the grove. This also happen to me at the O'Neal location. . I finally called the media

The parking at the Grove for wheelchair accessible vehicles is very limited. Must of the time other none van handicap vehicle are parked in it's spot. Vehicles are parked across the blue strips. Parking has become really bad at this location. I've missed appointments because of parking. Arriving 30 minutes early doesn't always work either.

I had hand surgery on Nov 27, 2023. This was my first surgery so I was nervous and scared. RN Baley helped me feel at ease and answered all of my many questions leading up to the surgery. RN Kristen woke me up from surgery and made sure I got to my car safely. William Hubbard MD did a great job performing the surgery. Susan David MD and Stephanie Dunaway CRNA did a wonderful job making sure I didn’t feel or remember a thing. Even the ladies in the front lobby were pleasant. Thank you everyone!

The facility is very clean and organized. Staff is friendly at registration but "lobby guardian" is very rude. Doesn't stop walking from the back to the front which is crazy considering that the check in procedure is supposed to be private. I assume it is because I was not allowed to be with my wife but a female/female couple were allowed to stay together. The way facilities handle HIPPA laws, patient safety, and confidentiality should be worked out considering family first and making sure to ask patients who they want with them. Nurses and professional staff such as anesthesiologist were all very nice and professional. The only problem is the lobby and check in.

Went in for esophageal manometry; inserting a tube through your nose and down your throat to test esophagus motility. Tried it once before years ago but couldn't complete. RN James Allen's incredibly calming demeanor during this horrific procedure is absolutely the only reason that I was able to complete this procedure. Thanks!!!
