Biography
Dr. Kofsky earned his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He completed his surgical residency and chief residency in general surgery at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Harvard surgical service. Dr. Kofsky subsequently completed a fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery at New York Hospital/Cornell Medical Center. He has been a partner in cardiovascular surgery practices in New York and Virginia and has recently relocated to south Louisiana. Dr. Kofsky is double board-certified in general surgery and thoracic surgery. He is an active member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons.
Dr. Kofsky is dedicated to addressing the medical needs of his patients while understanding their individual concerns and goals. He maintains a strong interest in cardiac surgical quality and enhancing the patient experience during and after cardiac surgery. Outside of medicine, Dr. Kofsky is a dedicated husband and father of two children. In addition to spending quality time with his family, his interests include American history, music and gardening.
