Elizabeth Gosciniak, MD is a primary care doctor at Ochsner Health specializing in internal medicine and pediatrics in New Orleans, Louisiana. She treats many conditions, including chronic disease prevention, hypertension, diabetes and heart disease.

Dr. Gosciniak is passionate about meeting patients where they’re at and partnering with them to optimize their health by considering the whole person, not just their diseases. She is a big proponent of preventative medicine and keeping patients out of the hospital so that they are able to live their best lives for years to come.

Dr. Gosciniak grew up in New Orleans and went to Dominican High School. She then went on to obtain a degree in music at Loyola University with a minor in chemistry. After discovering a passion for global health and patient care during undergrad, she continued her journey at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, where she obtained her medical degree.

While in medical school, she had the opportunity to deliver primary care to patients in Kenya and participate in infectious diseases research. She then left Louisiana to go to residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C., where she continued her global work during a rotation teaching medical students in Namibia. During the Covid pandemic, while working in the ICU, Dr. Gosciniak discovered a true calling in preventing diseases rather than reacting to severe end stage diseases in the ICU. She returned to New Orleans to deliver primary care in her hometown.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Gosciniak enjoys gardening, eating New Orleans food, traveling, volunteering and spending time with her family.
