Elizabeth Lapeyre, MD, is an obstetrician and gynecologist (OB/GYN) at Ochsner Health in New Orleans, Louisiana. She specializes in perimenopause, menopause and post-menopause, as well as care for cancer survivors from active treatment through survivorship.

Dr. Lapeyre is the medical director for the Menopause and Women’s Wellness Center at Ochsner Baptist in New Orleans. She also serves as the system medical director for integrative oncology at The Gayle and Tom Benson Cancer Center in New Orleans.

After completing her undergraduate education at the University of Virginia, Dr. Lapeyre obtained her medical degree at Tulane Medical School in New Orleans. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Ochsner Health in 2003. She completed the Duke Leadership Program in health and well-being and is board-certified in integrative medicine. Dr. Lapeyre has been on the faculty at Ochsner since 2003 and served as both the associate program director and the program director for the OB/GYN residency training program.

Dr. Lapeyre is an active member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and has served in leadership roles at the local, district and national levels including the ACOG board of directors. She is a certified menopause practitioner and a member of the International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health and the Integrative Oncology Working Group. She speaks locally, nationally and internationally on women’s health, menopause and cancer survivorship.

When Dr. Lapeyre isn’t practicing medicine, she enjoys spending time with her husband and five children. She also enjoys running, working out and is an avid reader and podcast listener.
