Erika Smith, MD, specializes in pediatric gastroenterology at Ochsner Health. Dr. Smith earned her medical degree from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans in 2009. She then moved to Birmingham, Alabama, to complete her pediatric internship and residency at the University of Alabama (UAB). She stayed at UAB for her pediatric gastroenterology fellowship, during which she focused on eosinophilic esophagitis research and she participated in the Children's of Alabama Colorectal Clinic. Dr. Smith is a member of the North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition. At Ochsner, she is a pediatric gastroenterologist in the colorectal clinic and the aerodigestive clinic. She is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric gastroenterology.
