Ioana Miinea, ACNP, is an adult gerontology acute care nurse practitioner with a special focus in neurocritical care medicine. She is certified by the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses and has been part of the Ochsner Health team since 2014. Since becoming a nurse practitioner in 2017, Ioana has dedicated her practice to caring for patients with life-threatening neurological conditions such as stroke, brain injury, seizures and other critical illnesses affecting the brain and nervous system.

Ioana understands that neurological emergencies affect not only patients but also their families. She is committed to delivering evidence-based, compassionate care, supporting patients through the most vulnerable moments of their recovery and guiding families with clear communication and empathy.

She earned dual bachelor’s degrees in classical piano performance and nursing from Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, Louisiana, followed by her master’s degree in nursing from Northwestern State University of Louisiana. In addition to her clinical work, Ioana remains engaged in professional growth as a member of the Louisiana Association of Nurse Practitioners, the Society of Critical Care Medicine, the Neurocritical Care Society, and the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses.
