Dr. Irma Oliva is a Texas native who pursued an undergraduate degree at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas, prior to attending medical school at the University of Texas in Houston. She continued her combined anatomic and clinical pathology training at Emory University in Atlanta. She continued her training at University of California, Los Angeles, and completed a Cytopathology fellowship followed by a second fellowship in Surgical pathology with emphasis in gastrointestinal and liver pathology. Dr. Oliva is triple board-certified in anatomic and clinical pathology as well as Cytopathology and began her practice at Ochsner in 2013.
