Dr. Jafar Alsaid received his medical degree from the University of Baghdad Medical College in 1989. He completed his internship and residency at the American University of Beirut. He finished his first nephrology fellowship from the American University of Beirut and a second nephrology fellowship from Emory University School of Medicine. He had been practicing nephrology for more than 20 years. Dr. Alsaid joined Ochsner in Jan 2021. He holds an assistant professor academic title from the University of Queensland / Australia. His main expertise is clinical nephrology, hemodialysis, hypertension, interventional nephrology and renal ultrasound. His main research interest is hemodialysis infection control and hypertension and cardiovascular risk factors in patients with chronic kidney disease.
