Dr. Martin received her medical degree from Tulane University and completed residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Ochsner Health in New Orleans, LA. She practiced as a general obstetrician in Denver and in New Orleans prior to completing fellowship in maternal fetal medicine at Ochsner Health. Dr. Martin is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetricians and Gynecologists in obstetrics and gynecology. Her special interests include management of placenta accreta spectrum disorder, multifetal gestation, and preventing severe maternal morbidity and mortality. She serves on the Louisiana state pregnancy associated mortality review committee and the Louisiana perinatal quality collaborative. Dr. Martin enjoys collaborating with her patients and with other physicians and healthcare providers to ensure a healthy and safe delivery for mom and baby (or babies!). Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) physicians, or perinatologists, are subspecialty-trained obstetricians who specialize in high-risk pregnancies, to ensure a healthy outcome for the mother and the baby. Moms-to-be with chronic health issues or who face unexpected problems that develop during pregnancy may be referred to perinatologists by their obstetricians. Ochsner offers MFM services across Louisiana and Southern Mississippi, combining perinatal expertise and experience with modern and sophisticated technology, such as virtual physician-to-patient ultrasounds.
