Biography
Dr. Owens earned his medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, in 2001. Following a general surgery internship, he completed his otolaryngology residency at the University of Colorado in Denver, in 2006. Upon completion of his training, he established a private practice in Napa, California. He also worked in Las Cruces, New Mexico, where he served as president of the medical staff and chief of surgery. He most recently worked at Tulane School of Medicine. Dr. Owens is board-certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. He is also a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (AAO-HNS) and the American Rhinologic Society (ARS).
A Baton Rouge native, Dr. Owens returned to Louisiana in 2022. He lives in New Orleans with his wife Heather, a NICU hospitalist with Ochsner. The couple has two children and two dogs. When not working, they can typically be found in local restaurants or fishing in the coastal marshes.
