Dr. Joyce Varghese has been a pediatric intensivist at Ochsner Hospital for Children since 2014 and the pediatric critical care medical director since 2021. She received a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Nova Southeastern University in Davie, Florida. She completed a pediatrics internship and residency at Children's Hospital of New Orleans followed by a pediatric critical care fellowship at UCLA Mattel Children's Hospital in Los Angeles, California. Dr. Varghese is board-certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in general pediatrics and pediatric critical care. Dr. Varghese is a member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine, the American Association of Pediatrics and the American Association for Physician Leadership. She has an interest in CRRT, ECMO and quality improvement and believes that even in the darkest of times, compassion and kindness can be essential tools in providing care.
