Biography

Karly Lebherz, MD, practices emergency medicine at Ochsner Baptist. Dr. Lebherz specializes in the management of medical resuscitation and trauma-related emergencies in both adult and pediatric patients. She has contributed to numerous peer-reviewed publications, lectures, and poster presentations. She is particularly interested in emergencies related to sickle cell anemia. Using the latest evidence, she has standardized the treatment of vaso-occlusive episodes for patients in Ochsner's emergency departments and has lectured internationally on this topic.

Dr. Lebherz earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland, in 2021. She completed her Emergency Medicine residency at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, in 2024, gaining Level I trauma experience at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center and Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport. She is currently a candidate for the Fellowship of the Academy of Wilderness Medicine, focusing her expertise on providing medical care in remote and austere environments where advanced medical resources may be limited or unavailable.

Since joining Ochsner, Dr. Lebherz has been dedicated to addressing the diverse medical needs of her patients while prioritizing their individual concerns and goals. Outside of medicine, she enjoys hiking, gardening and traveling.
