Kristen Malkiewicz, NP, practices obstetrics and gynecology at Ochsner Health. She is a lifetime New Orleanian. Kristen has over 14 years of experience with the Ochsner team. She grew up in Metairie, Louisiana, and attended St. Mary's Dominican High School. Kristen went on to earn her undergraduate bachelor of science in nursing degree from William Carey University in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. She worked as a gegistered nurse at Ochsner Medical Center - New Orleans from 2006 to 2013 on the Mother Baby, Antepartum, and Labor and Delivery Units. In 2013, she transferred to Ochsner Baptist with Ochsner Women's Services and continued working as a registered nurse. During her career as a bedside registered nurse she was continuously recognized for her outstanding contributions to the nursing profession and was a recipient of the Spirit of Caring Award in 2011 and the Great 100 Nurse Award in 2015. Kristen then earned a master of science in nursing degree from Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, Louisiana, in 2015. She transitioned into the role of advanced practice provider working in the OBGYN clinic at Ochsner Baptist from 2016 to 2021. In 2019, she established the Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD)/ Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) Clinic. She is currently working as an advanced practice provider at Ochsner Medical Center - Kenner in the OBGYN clinic. Her special interests include general obstetrics and gynecology as well as providing care for patients with PMDD and PMS. Her role as a PMDD practitioner is to provide guidance and assistance for individuals in order to better manage their symptoms with individualized treatment plans, adequate follow up, and ultimately improve their interpersonal functioning. Kristen prides herself in her empathetic approach and serving as a patient advocate. She enjoys providing wellness care for women of all ages. She is board-certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She is also a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
