Lauren Marks, PA-C, is a certified physician assistant with Ochsner Health, specializing in the care of patients in the Colon and Rectal Surgery department. She collaborates with physicians to provide pre- and post-operative care, perform detailed evaluations and support patients through both acute and long-term surgical management. Lauren is committed to delivering compassionate care that prioritizes patient comfort, dignity and individual needs.

Prior to joining the colon and rectal team, Lauren gained experience in emergency medicine and urgent care, serving adult and pediatric patients across multiple Ochsner facilities in Lafayette and surrounding areas. She also worked in neurosurgery, where she assisted in the operating room, coordinated inpatient consults and managed complex care in both hospital and outpatient settings.

Lauren earned her Master of Medical Science in physician assistant studies from Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University in Baton Rouge, where she was recognized with the Didactic Excellence Award. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in kinesiology with a minor in biological sciences from Louisiana State University. She is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.

Outside of medicine, Lauren loves spending quality time with her husband and two children. Lauren also enjoys trying new foods, antique shopping and traveling with friends and family.
