Dr. Lauren McMahill is a family medicine doctor at Ochsner Medical Center. She was born in New York State and grew up between central New Jersey and the Hudson Valley region of New York. After graduating high school, she moved to New Orleans and began working in emergency medical services. Soon after, she moved to Houma and worked as a paramedic in various towns throughout southeastern Louisiana. With the desire to become a physician, she began at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux. After graduating from Nicholls State, she was accepted into medical school at Louisiana State University in New Orleans. She completed residency at East Jefferson Family Medicine Residency in Metairie. Dr. McMahill's choice to become a family medicine physician stems from a desire to emphasize the importance of preventative medicine, and to treat a variety of patients and medical conditions. As a primary care practitioner, she places high value on the relationships formed with patients and the community. In addition to medicine, Dr. McMahill enjoys paddle boarding, traveling, gardening, knitting, and spending time with her dog and loved ones.
