Dr. Lauren Pointer, MD, specializes in gastroenterology at Ochsner Health. She earned her medical degree from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana, in 2015 and then completed her medical residency at Tulane University in 2018. In 2021, she completed a fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida. She is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology.



As a general gastroenterologist, Dr. Pointer sees patients for a variety of gastrointestinal problems and is dedicated to addressing the medical needs of her patients while understanding individual concerns and goals. She performs endoscopic procedures including esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD), colonoscopy, wireless capsule endoscopy, high-resolution esophageal manometry and esophageal pH studies.
