Leah Trahan, FNP, assists in plastic surgery at Ochsner Health. Leah is a native of Kaplan, Louisiana. She graduated from University of Louisiana at Lafayette with a Bachelor of Science in nursing in 2011. Following graduation, she worked as a registered nurse at Lafayette General Medical Center until 2017 in various departments including telemetry and acute cardiovascular care, cardiovascular short stay and clinical education. She graduated from ULL in 2016 with a Master of Science in nursing and became a certified family nurse practitioner by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. As a nurse practitioner, Leah has worked in specialties including cardiovascular care, wound care and plastic and reconstructive surgery. Leah joined the Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Doctors team to work with Dr. Lupo in August 2022. She has acquired her injectable certification from Aesthetic Medical Educators Training and enjoys seeing patients in clinic for cosmetic injectable visits. She also received her registered nurse first assistant certification from the National Institute of First Assisting so that she could better assist Dr. Lupo in surgery. She assists Dr. Lupo with many aspects of patient care including hospital rounds, reconstruction tissue expansion, surgery and clinic visits. Leah enjoys going the extra mile to help patients and working closely with Dr. Lupo to help patients navigate the surgical healing process.
