Liza Thomas, MD, CPXP, FACEP, has been on staff as an emergency physician at Ochsner Medical Center - New Orleans since 2001 and the Medical Director of Patient and Provider Advocacy for Ochsner Medical Center - New Orleans since 2014. She is currently working as Assistant Medical Director of Patient Experience for Ochsner Health. Dr. Thomas completed her residency in Emergency Medicine at the University of Maryland in Baltimore in 2001, serving as Chief Resident in her final year. She received her medical degree from Louisiana State University in New Orleans in 1998, where she graduated with honors and holds an undergraduate degree from Duke University from 1994. A New Orleans native, she is also a graduate of Isidore Newman School. Dr. Thomas is board certified in Emergency Medicine and is a fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians. She is involved with the American Board of Emergency Physicians serving as an oral board examiner. She has an interest in patient experience and is a certified patient experience professional. She has been named one of New Orleans Magazine's Top Doctors from 2011 through 2019. In her free time, Dr. Thomas enjoys spending time with her family, which includes her five children.
