Dr. Luis Salcedo, MD, MBA, FAAP, specializes in pediatric anesthesiology at Ochsner Health. He earned his medical degree from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá, Colombia. He completed his residency in pediatrics at the University of Florida – Jacksonville and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He completed a pediatric critical care fellowship at the University of California, Los Angeles, followed by a residency in anesthesiology at UCLA. He is board-certified in both anesthesiology and pediatric anesthesiology. Dr. Salcedo joined Ochsner Health in 2017 and completed a Physician Executive MBA at Auburn University in 2019. He has served as section head of pediatric anesthesia at Ochsner Children’s Hospital since 2018, where he plays a key role in service development, quality improvement and cross-disciplinary coordination. With over 30 years of experience in pediatric care, Dr. Salcedo is known for his thoughtful approach to clinical leadership, commitment to family-centered care, and dedication to improving safety and outcomes for surgical patients. His current efforts are focused on preparing the pediatric anesthesia service for the transition to the new Ochsner Children’s Hospital in 2027, leveraging both clinical expertise and operational insight to guide sustainable growth and excellence.
