Biography
Dr. Marae Schexnayder is a board-certified internal medicine physician at Ochsner Health. Dr. Schexnayder provides comprehensive primary care for a wide range of medical conditions. Her approach emphasizes preventative health, personalized screenings, and patient-centered care tailored to individual health goals. In addition to her expertise in general internal medicine, Dr. Schexnayder specializes in osteopathic manipulative medicine, offering hands-on treatment for both acute and chronic pain.
A native of Scott, Louisiana, Dr. Schexnayder earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Arkansas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Smith, Arkansas, in 2022. She completed her residency training in internal medicine at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans.
Dr. Schexnayder is passionate about building strong relationships with her patients and helping them achieve optimal health through collaborative care. She is a member of the American Osteopathic Association and the American College of Physicians.
Outside of her medical practice, Dr. Schexnayder enjoys fishing on the Atchafalaya River, gardening, landscaping, playing pickleball and spending quality time with her family.
