Biography
Dr. Melissa Jordan received her medical degree from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, Louisiana. She completed her Internship and Residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at Ochsner Clinic Foundation here in New Orleans. During her final year of training, she received the Outstanding Laparoscopic Resident Award. She practices a wide range of obstetric and gynecologic care with special interests in adolescent gynecology, preconception counseling and fertility, obstetrics, and minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. Dr. Jordan's goal is to provide a caring and compassionate environment so that every visit is a comfortable experience. Her belief is that teaching her patients about their health allows them to make informed decisions about their care. She strives to develop lifelong relationships with her patients in order to serve them throughout various stages of their lives.

Dr Jordan and her team were amazing! Listened to all my concerns, addressed my questions, and explained everything very well. Personally, this is the first time I felt an OBGYN actually listened to me and it was such a relief and breath of fresh air. Nothing but positives to say!
Dr. Jordan & I discussed the fact that I changed from the hormones she had given me last year to the OPILL. I told her that I stopped using the hormone patches she had given me. We also talked about the fact that since there was no evidence of cancer when my hysterectomy, there was no need for a pelvic exam. She gave her explanation & I agreed because I had not let her do one on our first encounter. We also discussed colonoscopy. I explained that the reason I had not done one is because it says for people with medium risk and since no one in my family had colon cancer I had not done it. She explained that there was someone in their 70[s who had been diagnosed with colon cancer. She didn't fuss. She discussed.
I really appreciate that Dr. Jordan took the time to listen to me, review my symptoms, review our past discussions about treatment plans for these issue, and make a new one with me in light of my current situation. She was very respectful and helpful.

Dr. Jordan is an amazing Physician. She went above and beyond for me during my entire pregnancy all the way through delivery and postpartum. She is truly a godsend. She advocates for her patients and genuinely cares. She visited me often in antepartum and constantly kept in communication with the other healthcare providers in MFM. I'm so thankful to have her as my OBGYN.
