Biography

Dr. Melissa Spera completed her bachelor of science degree at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She then completed a masters of science degree in pharmacology at Tulane University in New Orleans. She received her medical degree from the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans in 2012.

Following graduation, Dr. Spera completed her internal medicine residency and gastroenterology fellowship at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans.

Dr. Spera practices general gastroenterology with a special interest in esophageal disorders. Dr. Spera is board-certified in internal Medicine and gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
