Biography

Michael R. Castine, MD, FACC, specializes in interventional cardiology and cardiovascular diseases at Ochsner Health. Dr. Castine graduated with honors from the University of Michigan with concentrations in biopsychology and cognitive neuroscience, as well as cell and molecular biology. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-New Jersey Medical School (now Rutgers Medical School). Thereafter, he completed his Internal Medicine residency at Tufts-New England Medical Center in Boston. This was followed by a fellowship in Cardiovascular Diseases at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. Lastly, he completed a fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at the University of Massachusetts in Worcester, Massachusetts. Dr. Castine's clinical interests include non-invasive and interventional treatment of acute and chronic CAD, PVD (peripheral vascular disease, including management of both arterial and venous insufficiency), as well as the inpatient and outpatient care of the general cardiovascular patient.
