Ochsner Medical Center on the West Bank is a 180-bed general medical and surgical acute care facility, located on the mighty Mississippi River.
The Medical Center offers comprehensive medical services provided by a multi-disciplinary team including more than 500 board-certified or board-eligible physicians, a highly-trained nursing staff and other skilled allied-health professionals.
Since becoming a member of the Ochsner family in October 2006, the Medical Center has made great strides in bringing more comprehensive and technologically-advanced services to the community. A robust electronic Medical record was implemented, which can follow a patient anywhere in the Ochsner System. It also gives the patient access to their own records at their leisure. A six-bed outpatient chemotherapy administration area was likewise outfitted to meet the needs of West Bank residents requiring chemotherapy, blood transfusions, injections and other cancer-related drug therapy. Advanced Wound Care services with a multi-discplinary approach to healing is a unique service for the West Bank. Ochsner West Bank also offers Mako® robotic-arm assisted surgery for the most precise and minimally invasive surgical procedures for hip and knee replacements.
Additionally, several established services such as the Family Unit, NICU and Emergency Department are continuing to grow, becoming leaders for the West Bank.
Each day, Ochsner Medical Center's West Bank campus is opening doors to new West Bank residents and others from the wider region. We are a community resource for the West Bank and beyond, promoting health and wellness for all of our citizens.
As a nationally recognized top 100 hospital through U.S. News and World Report, Ochsner Medical Center is working to improve patient care, patient outcomes and safety in ways that can be documented and adopted as daily practice. As the metropolitan area continues to feel the impact from the shortage of acute care hospital beds, we are proud to be able to offer the advanced care so many seek.
Whether you come to Ochsner Medical Center on the West Bank to receive emergency care, deliver a baby, take an outpatient test or attend a seminar, rest assured that health care with peace of mind can be yours.

you can tell they are taking the spreading of the virus seriously. The staff was still friendly and helpful even though they are probably overwhelmed. I am very thankful for the medical care I receive here in the united states especially since I have seen what socialized medicine is doing in other countries right now.

I want to express how happy I am as well as my family for the top-notch service I received. I was misdiagnosed from Urgent Care that scared me. My daughter called Roxanne Afis, a case manager, and she walked my daughter to where she needed to bring me. I felt totally safe during this pandemic. They staff from the greeter was looking for my safety. The staff took me immediately and the nurses and doctor knew what to do. No wait time. Kudos to your staff and hospital. I was correctly diagnosed and sent with the medicine to remedy the situation. I highly recommend people to use this hospital. The care was superb. Thank you for your services during these times.

When there’s a pregnancy delivery, you guys need to have something that patient’s husband or what have you come through the Automatic doors. Something like a pass you can scan or ID (Driver’s license) reader to let the husband or what have you in. Because I had go through a lot to come to room 221. And also when someone is visiting the patient, get a sticker and stick it on their shirt and measure temperature 🤒 of the person visiting until COVID-19 Vaccine 💉 is found..
Our Response:

Tonight my mother was cared by the most professional, detail, caring, and humble group of teams. From Rudy, ED RN, to Ms. Ivory, ED, to Arian, Lab, to the final floor stop care by Analisa, thank you from one colleague of healthcare to another...you all deserve recognition for the statement that has been teach and preach! Care for your patients as one of your own family members. "God bless you all, stay healthy, safe and you all and your facility should be extremely proud of yourself for the superb care that you provide and hope that you continue that success!" Deepest gratitude from Ms. Nguyen's daughter and entire family
