Common Causes of ED
ED can happen for a number of reasons. It can be a sign of an underlying health condition, such as:
- Atherosclerosis (clogged blood vessels)
- Depression
- Diabetes
- Heart disease
- High blood pressure
- High cholesterol
- Multiple sclerosis
- Obesity
- Peyronie's disease
- Sleep disorders
- Stress and/or anxiety
- Substance abuse including alcoholism
- Tobacco use
- Treatments for prostate cancer or enlarged prostate
- Some prescription medications
- Previous surgeries/injuries affecting the spinal cord or pelvic area
