Dr. Knight earned his medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Medicine and completed his psychiatry internship at William S. Hall Psychiatric Institute, University of South Carolina. He began his psychiatry residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and completed it at Ochsner where he served as Chief Resident. He also received the Pharmacia and Upjohn Achievement Award for "Outstanding Psychiatry Resident." Dr. Knight served as the Consultation-Liaison Fellow for the Department of Psychiatry at Ochsner Clinic Foundation and has been a member of the staff since 1998. Dr. Knight is board certified in general psychiatry. He has a special interest in the psychiatric treatment of geriatric patients, as well as an interest in consultation-liaison psychiatry, or the subspecialty that provides psychiatric treatment for patients with comorbid medical and psychiatric disorders. This also includes psychiatric evaluation for patients needing organ transplantation.
