Michaela King, DO, MPH, FAAP, practices pediatrics at Ochsner Health. Dr. King has expertise in preventive pediatric care and community-based public health initiatives, offering comprehensive care for various medical needs, including adolescent health.Dr. King earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in Des Moines, Iowa, in 2003. She also holds a Master of Public Health from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana. She is board-certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics and completed her pediatric residency at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana, in 2006. Dr. King actively participates in the American Academy of Pediatrics to stay updated on medical advancements and health policy initiatives impacting children and families. In 2025, she was honored as a recipient of the American Academy of Pediatrics Local Hero Award in recognition of her outstanding service and advocacy on behalf of children and families in her community.Dr. King is dedicated to addressing the medical needs of her patients while understanding individual concerns and goals. Her clinical interests include health equity, immunization advocacy, infectious diseases, adolescent wellness and culturally responsive care. She has been practicing in the Greater New Orleans community for nearly two decades and has been practicing at Ochsner since 2026, remaining deeply committed to improving outcomes for children across the region.Outside of medicine, Dr. King is actively involved in community service through several different organizations. She enjoys traveling, reading, engaging in various arts and crafts activities, mentoring students pursuing careers in healthcare and cheering on her favorite sports teams.
