Biography

Michelle Collins, Ph.D., CNM, RNC-EFM, FACNM, FAAN, FNAP, received her Master of Science in Nursing/Nurse-Midwifery from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and her Ph.D. from University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, Tennessee. Dr. Collins serves as Dean of the College of Nursing and Health at Loyola University New Orleans and works clinically per diem as a Certified Nurse-Midwife at Ochsner Baptist. Dr. Collins research interests include cervical dysplasia diagnosis and treatment, waterbirth, and the use of nitrous oxide for childbirth. She has published over 40 peer-reviewed scientific papers and served as a principal investigator or a co-investigator on numerous studies.
