Biography
Patrick McGrew, MD, practices general surgery, acute care surgery, and surgical critical care medicine at Ochsner Health. Dr. McGrew has expertise in the care of acutely ill and injured patients, offering comprehensive care for various medical needs, including emergency surgical conditions, traumatic injuries and critical illness.
Dr. McGrew earned his degree in Medicine from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, in 2010. He is board-certified in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care by the American Board of Surgery in 2015 and 2016, respectively. He completed an Acute Care Surgery fellowship at University of Nevada, Reno in Las Vegas, Nevada, in 2017. Dr. McGrew actively participates in the American College of Surgeons and the Eastern Association for the surgery of Trauma to stay updated on medical advancements.
Dr. McGrew is dedicated to addressing the medical needs of their patients while understanding individual concerns and goals. He has been practicing at Ochsner since 2025. Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with his family, reading and being outdoors.
