Biography
Dr. McLaren completed general surgery residency training at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans in 2019. He then completed a research fellowship in esophageal cancer and a clinical hepato-pancreato-biliary surgery fellowship in 2021. Since completing his training, Dr. McLaren has served as clinical faculty for the LSU General Surgery Residency program. Dr. McLaren actively participates in Americas Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association and the American College of Surgeons to stay updated on medical advancements.
Originally from Wisconsin, Dr. McLaren came to Louisiana for medical training and chose to make Acadiana his home. He is dedicated to addressing the medical needs of his patients while understanding individual concerns and goals. He joined Ochsner in 2025. Outside of medicine, Dr. McLaren enjoys cooking and spending time with his wife and their dog.
