Dr. Mowad completed his medical degree and residency training at LSU Health - Shreveport, where he subsequently completed a one-year program in Mastery of General Surgery at the VA. His practice is broad, covering all aspects of general surgery and especially focused on minimally invasive hernia repair, now integrating the Da Vinci Xi Robot to optimize patient outcomes. Dr. Mowad is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and joined Ochsner in 2020. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and is available to see patients experiencing issues related to abdominal pain, gallbladder/gallstones, hernias (abdominal wall and groin), anorectal/hemorrhoid disease, pilonidal disease, lumps/bumps/cyst removal, melanomas/skin cancers, colon cancer/diverticulitis, thyroid/parathyroid disease, wound care, and breast disease. When he isn't working, he enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, playing/watching soccer, and enjoying the New Orleans food and music scene.
