Biography

Samuel Carter, DO, practices neurosciences critical care at Ochsner Health. Dr. Carter earned his undergraduate degree at Michigan State University, followed by his medical degree at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his internship and residency in Neurology at Michigan State University / Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, Michigan. Following this, he trained in Neurocritical Care at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor. Dr Carter is board-certified in both Neurology & Neurocritical Care by the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology, and has been on staff at Ochsner since 2022. Dr. Carter has expertise in management of the critically ill neurological and neurosurgical patient, as well as interest in medical education. When he is not working, Dr Carter enjoys traveling, sports, and serving the Greater New Orleans community.
