Dr. Selim Krim is a transplant cardiologist within the Cardiomyopathy and Heart transplantation section of Ochsner's Heart and Vascular Institute. His clinical expertise includes advanced heart failure, remote hemodynamic monitoring (CardioMEMS), mechanical circulatory support and cardiac transplantation. In addition, Dr. Krim is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Queensland/Ochsner Clinical School and currently serves as the Medical Director of the Heart Transplant program, Fellowship Director of the Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology program and Director of the Advanced HF Research Section at Ochsner. He received his Medical Degree from the Medical University of Algiers, Algeria. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency Training at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center McKeesport Hospital in Pennsylvania. He completed his Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship in Ochsner clinic, and Adult Echocardiography (level III training) and Advanced Heart Failure training at The Houston Methodist DeBakey Heart and Vascular Center/University of Texas Medical Branch.

Dr. Krim is a Fellow of the Heart Failure Society of America and the American College of Cardiology where he previously served on The ACC Fellow in Training Leadership Committee. He is also a Member of the International Society for Lung and Heart transplantation. He has published over 60 manuscripts, abstracts and book chapters related to advanced heart failure and LVAD therapy and published in JHLT, JACC, JACC Heart Failure, JACC Cardiovascular Imaging, Circulation Heart Failure, and Circulation Imaging. He serves as peer reviewer for high impact medical journal including Circulation, JACC Heart Failure, American Heart Journal, European heart failure journal and the Journal of Cardiac Failure. He was the recipient of several research awards, including the H. Liston Beazley M.D. Student Clinician of The Year Award at The Houston Methodist Heart and Vascular Center, the Dr. Charles B. Moore Cardiology Research Award at the Ochsner Heart and Vascular Center and the American Heart Association GWTG Young Investigator Award.
