Dr. Byron Shane Tucker is a board-certified otolaryngologist at Ochsner Health, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of ear, nose and throat (ENT) conditions through both surgical and in-clinic procedures. With extensive expertise in ENT care, he provides comprehensive treatment for a wide range of conditions, including ear pain, earwax buildup, sinusitis, sinus headaches, sore throat, hoarseness, difficulty swallowing, nasal obstruction, deviated septum, nasal fractures, nosebleeds, foreign objects in the ear/nose and skin lesions on the head and neck.


Dr. Tucker earned his medical degree from the University of Mississippi Medical School in 1984, where he also completed his residency training. He graduated as an elected member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, a distinction recognizing academic excellence and professional integrity. In 1989, he became board-certified by the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery. Dr. Tucker remains actively involved with the American Board of Otolaryngology, staying up to date with the latest advancements in the field. Since joining Ochsner Health in 2018, Dr. Tucker has been committed to providing expert ENT care while understanding the unique concerns and goals of each patient. Outside of medicine, he enjoys walking, running, swimming and hiking.
