Stephen Lewis, DNP, APRN, FNP-BC, is a family nurse practitioner at Ochsner Health. Although he was born on a military base in Germany, he was raised and spent the majority of his life in the New Orleans metropolitan area, specifically on the West Bank. Stephen earned his bachelor of science in nursing from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. He worked at University Medical Center in critical care medicine starting in 2017 and surgery and recovery medicine at Touro Medical Center in 2020. He received his doctorate in nursing practice degree from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in 2022, graduating with honors through the nationally recognized Sigma Theta Tau. He then received his board certification through American Nursing Credentialing Center (ANCC). Stephen actively participates in American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and Louisiana Association of Nurse Practitioners to stay updated on medical advancements and as a board member for several healthcare organizations. He has over seven years of nursing experience and specializes in primary care.
As a board-certified nurse practitioner, he takes a special interest in the community and men's health while driving the mission of healthcare practice forward by providing holistic and evidence-based care with a commitment to exceptional patient support and advocacy. Stephen has a passion for people and enjoys connecting with his patients and treating each patient as if they are a part of his family.
Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with his family and traveling. He is an avid car enthusiast. Stephen holds firm to a personal philosophy centered on truly impacting the life of each person he meets.
