Travis A. Phipps, MD, is a family medicine physician practicing primary care at Ochsner Health in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. Phipps specializes in managing chronic illnesses, such as diabetes and high blood pressure; treating acute conditions, such as the flu and colds; and offering preventive care to support his patients’ long-term health and well-being. He provides comprehensive care for patients of all ages.

A native of southwest Louisiana, Dr. Phipps has called New Orleans home for more than 15 years. He earned his medical degree from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans in 2019 and completed his residency in family medicine at East Jefferson General Hospital in Metairie, Louisiana, in 2022. To stay current with advancements in evidence-based medicine, Dr. Phipps is an active member of the Louisiana Academy of Family Physicians and the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Dr. Phipps is passionate about building strong relationships with his patients and working collaboratively to create personalized care plans that align with their individual health goals.

His connection to Ochsner Health began during his pre-med years, when he volunteered in the patient relations department, inspiring his commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Phipps enjoys traveling with his partner and dogs, watching documentaries, playing trivia, reading and cycling. He is happy to serve the New Orleans community and contribute to the health and wellness of the Gulf South region.
